Moreover, for those enthusiasts who lack time but want to enjoy the Khumbu region with the view of Mt. Everest, we are introducing a package of the trek to Namche Bazaar. You will enter Sagarmatha National Park, one of the ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal. This package features Namche Bazaar and Everest View Hotel as the main attraction points. The Namche Bazaar trek takes eight days from arrival to departure. This adventure starts from a flight to Lukla then marches towards Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and Everest View Hotel then back to Namche Bazaar and finally Lukla from where you will fly back to Kathmandu. Namche Bazaar elevation is about 11285 feet but the highest height that you will reach today is 13000 feet at Everest View Hotel, one of the hotels in highest altitude as noted by Guinness Book of World records. You can gaze upon many sturdy snowy peaks like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache and many more in your short trek to Namche Bazaar with a variety of terrain and beautiful forest of rhododendron, oak, pine, and fir. However, after you arrive in Kathmandu from Lukla, the adventure doesn't stop as you will witness religious, art, architectural, and cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. You will be taken to Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa and Patan Durbar Square.
Namche Bazaar trek is not a difficult one, so trekker, who is a beginner, can enjoy it. Also, the age group doesn't matter. A warm welcome to the land of mountains, Nepal. As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will be waiting for you at the terminal and drop you off at your deluxe hotel. Freshen up and visit our main office for the detail of your upcoming short trek to Namche Bazaar. You will be meeting up with your guide at the office and feel free to question us regarding the forthcoming adventurous. In the evening, our representative will be there to pick you up for a welcome dinner, which consists of traditional Nepali cuisine and cultural performance.
The next day is the start of your adventure. You will be dropped at the domestic airport for your flight to Lukla. It will be an early morning flight of 35 minutes. Lukla has a small airport called Tenzing-Hillary Airport and many shops and lodges for tourists and trekkers. As you arrive at the Lukla airport, enjoy hot tea while your guides will sort out your luggage and divide it among the local porters. Then you will head towards the next stop, which is Phakding. Phakding is a small village north of Lukla. It is meant to support tourism in the Khumbu region. The trail to Phakding passes through Sherpa villages with the scenic view of mountains like Numbur and Phari. After you cross Ghat village, it will take one and a half hours more to reach Phakding. As you reach Phakding, you will lodge with the view of Kusum-Kangaru in the teahouse.
Today, you will head towards a beautiful town of Namche Bazaar. You will cross several suspension bridges of the Dudh Koshi river moving up and down. As you reach Benkar, you can see Mt. Thamserku. Then at Monjo, also the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, your permits and passes will be checked, and the records will be kept of each person entering the region. After crossing the Bhote Koshi river and passing Jorsalle village the Namche Bazaar is just uphill where a winding path takes you there. As you reach the gateway to the Himalayas, you will see many colorful houses in the city. The peaks like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and Kwangde can be seen from various locations of Namche Bazaar.
If you have picked an Everest Base Camp Trek, it would have been an acclimatization day at Namche for you. However, as Namche Bazaar is the final destination for this trek, today you will explore Namche Bazaar. Rise early in the morning and gear up for a short hike to Everest View Hotel. It would be best if you climbed a steep path to Syangboche airstrip before reaching the Everest View Hotel. On reaching Everest View Hotel, enjoy a relaxing cup of tea with the view of Mount Everest. The Everest View Hotel has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Record as the hotel in the highest altitude (13,000 ft). After the relaxing stay, return to Namche to explore the city. Namche Bazaar has facilities of WIFI, cafes, restaurants, German Bakeries, and beauty salon if you need it. Also, on Saturday morning, the weekly market is established in the center of the city, which you can visit after you come back from the Everest View Hotel. You can shop for some souvenirs from Tibet markets that are held daily there. In the evening, rest at your lodges.
Today, you will trace your way back to Lukla. It will be a long walk of 7-8 hours. You will stop at Phakding for lunch. The path is filled with mountain view and green scenery with local Sherpa villages. After you reach Lukla, you can explore the place and interact with the locals. In the meantime, your guide will be confirming your ticket back to Kathmandu. In the evening, enjoy your last dinner in the Khumbu region. You will stay in teahouses at Lukla or the night.
It is time to return to Kathmandu. The flight will be scheduled as early as possible as the weather condition can change drastically in the Khumbu region. The trip can be delayed for hours or even days. So, we are sorry for the inconvenience, but we can't go against nature. However, we will try our best to confirm your trip back to Kathmandu as early as possible. After you reach Kathmandu, you will be dropped at your hotel where you can rest for the day and stay for the night.
The last full day in Kathmandu brings you another adventure in which you will visit some local places and some UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will be visiting 3 out of 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal that are located in Kathmandu Valley.
Pashupatinath temple is a temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva which consists of over 500 temples, monuments, and shrines with several architectural designs. The main temple is of pagoda style with a large bronze bull facing the main entrance of the temple. You can also see the cremation ceremony being conducted on the banks of the holy river Bagmati.
Boudhanath stupa is another religiously and architecturally significant site for Buddhist people. It is a large white dome-like structure laced with prayer flags and surrounded by prayer wheels. The stupa will provide you with a peaceful environment that energizes you to the core of your soul.
Finally, you will visit one of the durbar squares of Kathmandu Valley. It is Patan Durbar Square located in Lalitpur District. It displays beautiful Newar architecture to the fullest. It has many temples and idols in the courtyards. Though it was affected by the earthquake of 2015, the construction works are ongoing to date. Meet with locals and try to get stories from them for detailed knowledge of their traditions and cultures. After the enriching tour that displays Nepal's culture, art, and architectural beauties, you will be taken back to your hotel.
In the evening, you will join us for a farewell dinner organized for you.
