Visit Nepal 2020: Why to Visit Nepal?

Nepal is an inland nation situated in the Himalayas between India and China. It is a diversified country in terms of natural resources, wildlife, cultures, traditions and religions. Nepal has the pride on its glorious mountains of northern region with eight out of ten tallest mountains in the world situated in Nepal in which Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) is the tallest of them all with the height of 8848 meters. It consists of branched out terrains and topography which will provide you with varying environment. Topography includes of heated Tarai plains, up and down hills, mountain ranges with valleys, high mountains with temperate climate and snowy Himalayas. The World Deepest Gorge I.e. Kali Gandaki Gorge in also located in Nepal. In terms of culture and cultural heritage, Nepal has made its own impact in the world. With various religious and cultural difference in the country, you can observe many religious rituals and cultural rites being held in various places. Nepal has versatile ethnic groups that focuses on their own unique style of festivals, languages dance, music, art and craft and so on.

Tour to Kathmandu

This is a tour for those with the interest in the art and culture of the city of temples, Kathmandu. Among ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Kathmandu Valley consists of 7 of them, namely Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changunarayan Temple. Pashupatinath temple is a Hindu temple located in both side of holy Bagmati river and is dedicated to Lord Shiva as his holy abode.

Changunarayan Temple, which is located in Bhaktapur, is the oldest temple in Nepal with its own architectural style.

The most thrilling adventure that is highly suggested and preferred on coming to Nepal is the Mount Everest Base Camp hike. This journey starts from the height of 1306 meters (Kathmandu) and reaches at the height of 5606 meters (Kala Patthar) from where you can admire the great Mount Everest and other snowcapped mountains panoramically. You will be interacting with the local Sherpas and going through the unscaled paths.

Gorkha

Gorkha, a historical place of Nepal, famous for the Gurkha Soldiers and the creation of Modern Nepal, is pretty famous place locally. Manakamana Temple, Gorakhnath and Gorkhali Temple are the famous religious sites in this place. Also, the Gorkha Palace with the view of eight highest mountain in the world, Manasalu(8163m), can be viewed from there. It also consists of Ligligkot and Lakhan Thapa Gaon for the hikers.

Bandipur

Between Kathmandu and Pokhara, lies an old Newar town in the hilltop. It has preserved and maintained its old cultural attributes as temples, shrines, festivals an architecture to the day. So, it is a place that offers rich hill culture, views of mountains and hikes.

Janakpur

The birth place of Sita (a deity), Janakpur, the ancient Mithila City is a core for religious and cultural tourism. The main attraction is the Janaki Mandir (also called Nau Lakha Mandir as it was estimated that the construction cost was nine lakh rupees) with the culture of Southern Terai of Nepal. It is full of Maithali culture and art which is another plus point of Janakpur. You can also enjoy with traditional crafts such as woodcarving, pottery or stone masonry.

When to visit Nepal?

As Nepal has a vast difference of cultural and topographical difference, there is no particular” Best Time to Visit Nepal”. Nepal is in your reach in any moment and will welcome you with something new atevery pace of time that you come in. From the month of September to November, the sky is clear, views are well seen and the air around is pretty fresh. It is the best time around for trekking andmountaineering enthusiasts’ people. Trek such as Everest Base CampAnnapurna Base Camp and Manasalu Circuit Trek are very popular. You will also be able to observe two of our most important festivals Dashain and Tihar during these months.

In the month of December to February, it is warm at day time but cold during night. So, many of the shorter treks are recommended like Poon hillLangtang etc. Visiting Chitwan and Bardiya National Parks is also a favorite choice for nature lovers. The month of March to May invites colorful scenery in our country. It is a popular time to be in journey in Nepal. The Rhododendron blooms in this season making an amazing site during trekking to high hills and mountains. The trekking sites are same as during autumn season. You can also enjoy the festival of colors: Holi with locals.

Lastly the month from June to August is warm and wet. Due to rain, the trekking is not suitable but you can see the lush full fields, blooming flowers and butterflies fluttering all around. The down-pour is uncertain so be prepared but the culture flourishes with occasional festivity. You can also visit many heritage sites all around the year and get to know cultures from various tribes and also participate in them.
