Mardi Himal Trek

You cannot keep calm while you are just so close to your destination. Kathmandu is the Capital city and the largest metropolis in Nepal. Your much-awaited trek begins exactly right here. In the airport, you will get the Nepali visa and then just collect your bag, meet the representative of Himalayan Planet Adventure who will drop you in the hotel in a private car.

Take a little rest in your hotel room, after that you have to visit the main office of Himalayan Planet Adventure. Here you will get the detailed itinerary of your desired trek. The evening will be designed exclusively for you with the presentation of Nepali dances and songs and finally, you will experience the exotic cuisine of Nepal. Thereupon, return to your hotel for the night stay.

Kathmandu Valley is one of the oldest cities in the world, once it was home to the Royals. This city has been the melting pot for different religion, cultures, and arts and these diverse ethnicities have made it the UNESCO World Heritage Site with seven conserved locations.

Our tour guide will take you to three such locations. We will begin from Kathmandu Durbar Square or Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, which is steeped with the history and royal culture. Here the temples are protected as national heritage sites. To the extreme southern part of this place, there is Kumari Chock where a living virgin Goddess makes a public appearance and the girl is selected through a mystical and ancient process and it is the main attraction of Durbar Square.

After this interesting tour, we will drive towards Swayambhunath Stupa, which is situated in the top hill and you will catch a glimpse of the bliss of the mountains and lush green valley and impressive monasteries. It is a Buddhist religious complex, more than 25000 years old, entitled in world heritage site for its existence.

Then we will proceed towards the Pashupatinath temple which is another alluring attraction of Kathmandu. From the banks of Bagmati, you can experience the sublime beauty of this Shiva temple. We move to Boudhanath stupa for another major attraction of this tour. In the evening get back to the hotel and finish your backpacking to venture across the snow-capped hills.

Your journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus will be a memorable one. One of the best highlights of this journey is Trisuli river valley, which will give a wonderful opportunity to get an ultimate river rafting and fishing experience in the river. This river originates in Tibet and flows through Nepal and then meets the Ganga and the Bay of Bengal.

On your way to Pokhara, you will cross the Mugling, which is one of busiest highways of Nepal. However, you will go crazy after watching such magnificent scenic beauty of the valleys and mountains. Finally, you reach Pokhara, which is full of lakes and ponds. The beautiful Phewa Lake is located in the southern part of the valley and here you can indulge in lakeside activities right after checking in the hotel. The city has to offer the delightful experience to foodies and shopaholic. So just have fun in the evening and get ready for the next day.

Village Khade is 45 minutes away from Pokhara and local vehicles are the best mode to commute to the place. Then from here, you will be headed towards Deurauli village and your much-awaited trek begins here. While moving to the raised hilltop, the mountainous scenery and the rhododendron forest will allure your heart. If you are visiting the place in the month of March or April, you will experience the enchanting and enthralled supernatural beauty of rhododendron forest. The mountain climbing challenge will increase exponentially as you go higher. We will reach Deurauli after near about 3 to 4 hour and take rest in the local tea house.

You will be proceeding slowly trailing around the forest. Ensconced in the lush green forests, you will explore the beauty of oak, maple, hemlock, and rhododendron. Even you will spot small villages with few guest houses and the local people. As this hiking path is inside the dense forest, we have to carry foods to satisfy our appetite. Since this route is newly opened for trekking, it offers the unspoiled beauty of nature. We will lodge in a small tea house as there is a limited number of hotels available, but the food is really awesome to reduce your hunger after a hectic climbing. The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours.

The panorama of the mountains will be so fascinating that you will be awestruck by the beauty of Annapurna. We can observe the three tallest peaks of the world. (From west to east is Dhaulagiri, No 7; Annapurna I, No 10; Manaslu, No 8). Even you can spot the Himalayan pheasant while ascending to the high camp. Here we will also spend the night in a little tea house after 5 hours long journey. 

Mardi Himal Base Camp is strikingly situated at the base of Mardi hills. The steep changes of landscapes are difficult trail though you will be wonderstruck to see the beautiful vistas. After 3-4 hours high rising, the spectacular view of Annapurna will melt your heart. On that very same day, we will return to BadalDanda where we will be staying in a local tea house that offers homestay. In the rugged mountain terrains, there are hardly any farm houses you can spot, but they cultivate Khakhra in the summer months. The trekking will be completed within 7-8 hours.

Our next destination is Kalimati village as we are gradually leaving the majestic alpine ranges. This is a small village and here we will get homestays for food and lodging. They offer delicious foods to the customer. The trekking time is 5 to 6 hours.​

The Lwang Valley Home is also a paradise for an adventure seeker. It is a splendid valley between the snow-clad mountains. In this territory, you will find susceptible cultivation of lands which adds special effects to its beauty. The trekking is usually completed within 4-5 hours. The local people offers accommodation to the tourists and their small little home stays and food are really great. You can communicate with locals and you will get to know about their lives and cultures. These homestays help them to make the ends meet and with this small amount of money they afford to give education to those poor little children. 

Local bus or jeep is the mode of transport that we will be taking from Long Valley Home. It takes two and a half hour to drive to Pokhara and our journey ends here.

After having our morning brunch, we will start our journey to reach Kathmandu by flight. We will see the great ranges of mountains and those beautiful valleys as we will be heading towards Kathmandu.
