Mani Rimdu festival celebrated by Buddhist in every country as in Nepal Mani Rimdu festivals is celebrated in every region and every sect. Different festivals can occur for the celebration. Likewise, Mani Rimdu festival is celebrated by the all Sherpa people living in a particular region as we focus this trip is based on Mani Rimdu festival performing in Tengboche monastery in Khumbu region. Different ceremonies can be believed to celebrate like Marriage ceremonies, Funerals, Pouring out the evil spirit etc. So, one can have the great opportunity to experience Mani Rimdu festival with the trek package in Nepal. Both the Tibetan and the Sherpa people celebrate together with great amusement.
It is believed that Mani Rimdu festival was commenced from the Tengboche monasteries in Khumbu region in the 1930s. Every festival has a different way to perform. In this Mani Rimdu, they perform the unique mask dance at a particular place. This dance was performing for full 3 days. They celebrate this festival very interesting because this festival occurs at the end of this work and the end of harvesting season. All the villagers in the Khumbu region have a great time during this festival. This Mani Rimdu festival combines with World popular trekking trails up to the base camp of Mt Everest which give you cultural trip in Sherpa land with adventures in the Himalayas.

After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindu temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is a place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take time to explore the surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa another pilgrimage center that is the most popular and important place for Buddhists. You can explore with a rounding prayer wheel and a flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise.
Early morning you’ll be transferred to a domestic airport to fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). It takes 35 minutes scenic flight to Lukla airport (2,800m/9,184ft) and you will have a tea break, while the guide sort out and divide the load baggage to be carried by porters. The guide will manage the lunch place depending upon the time of arrival at Lukla. The trek starts with the most scenic view of Numbur Himal & Phari. We further on to Phakding passing some Sherpa farm villages. We follow the trail to Dudhkoshi River with gradual with few ups from Thado Koshi, where you can have lunch with a superb view of Kusum-Kangaru (6,369m/20,890ft) crossing a short suspension bridge, from here after a short climb brings us to the Ghat village, another 1 ½ hr of gradual walk brings you to Phakding village for the overnight stop at the lodge after 3-4 hrs walk and reminder stroll around the village for local knowledge.

The trek starts in the morning and after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi the walk is pleasant with a few short uphill and downhill and re-crossing the same river again with a magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m/21,675ft) from the Benkar village. Trek continuing crossing the bridges and reaches Monjo where is the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park, where your trekking permit checked and keeps the record of all trekkers going to and from this place including the local trekking staff as well.
This day is for the acclimatization day around Namche. Visit up to the luxury Everest view hotel & Syangboche airstrip and for the better and panoramic view of Everest Himalayan range and return Namche via Khumjung village for overnight. Reminder enjoys walking around the market.

After strolling around the Namche, today we refreshed, and fairly easy to walk further on. Our walk follows on the gradual path up to Sanasa with overlooking a magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde peak. We descend to Imjatse River at Phungithanga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses. The trail leads uphill through the forested path of silver fir, blue pines, rhododendron, and some few magnolia and birch trees get to Tyangboche after a total of 5-6 hrs walk. This is one of the most beautiful places in the Himalaya the first thing that comes to your eye is the big Monastery or Gumba, then the large field with campsites and teahouses, lodges beneath the towering majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam, Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Lhotse Shar towards northeast and more peaks all around you.

Today start our trek with a pleasant walk and descend through a forest of birch, fir, juniper, and rhododendron and coming to a lovely spot at Deboche 3,650 m with a magnificent view of mountains and past the long prayer mani wall, the path is gradual up to the Pangboche village, from here onwards the lush vegetation and tree lines vanish, we enter the Imjatse valley to the Dingboche after 4-5 hrs walk. The great view of the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse with the view of the eastern snow-capped mountains including the Island Peak or Imjatse 6,189m, which is a popular peak amongst all the trekking peaks in Nepal. Dingboche is a beautiful patchwork of field enclosed by stone walls, protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. Dingboche has more than ten teahouses and it is also the gateway to Chukung and farther beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area and Hinko Valley via Sherpani col 6,100m and Amphu Laptsa pass 5,780m.

Today we rest for acclimatization at Dingboche valley, you may have a full day rest or there are some places where can go for a day walk like a trek to Chhukung 4,730m is worthwhile which takes approx. 3-4 hours from Dingboche, towards east within the Imjatse Valley, although the trek is gradual, however, you can feel the thin air as the altitude gains slowly coming towards Chhukung. At Chhukung, there are few teahouses overlooking superb views of the snow-capped peaks and glaciers of Lhotse, Ama-Dablam, and Imja glacier, Chhukung valley is the last settlement in the eastern Khumbu region. After enjoying a stroll back to Dingboche for overnight.

Today the trail diverts towards the north, the path is gradual up for about an hour as you come to a mani-prayer Stupa, from here the trail is gentle on the hard meadow looking down below Pheriche village and today’s walk offers a beautiful view of the scenic mountains. After a pleasant walk through the ridge will reach Thukla, an hour steep up brings you to the top, where you can view Mt. Pumori and other peaks west of Everest, the spot here is a good place for a few minutes break after the strenuous climb, close to this spot you can also see a number of the memorial of the unfortunate climber's monuments, who died in expeditions around the mountain of this region. We trek continues to the Lobuche for an hour for the overnight stop.

Today, we’ll be walking in the morning towards the Gorakshep. After 2 hrs walking in a windy and rocky path will arrive at Gorekshep for our overnight. These trails offer a wonderful view with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Nuptse, other peaks, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, and below the Gorekshep valley including the top of the world. After hotel check-in and have lunch our journey continues towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Icefall, the path from Gorekshep can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier, the walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air, the walk passes through over rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. Everest Base Camp is lively with commotion during the high expedition season. It takes 2-3 hrs to get to base camp and after a grand time here retrace the journey back to Gorekshep for the overnight at lodge.

Today wake up early & before breakfast start our adventure continues a steep climb to the top after a 2-hour walk at our pace. After reaching the top, you will feel beaming as you achieve the moment that you been dreaming, since the beginning of the journey. Top of Kalapathar is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori, the view from here is beyond imagination as the Everest looks amazing, the panoramic view from this spot is something to cherish, and you feel it’s worth the hard climb up to here and to feel at the top of the world, and can be seen to the south Khumbu glacier sweeps below you, and you can also see the Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier and a lot of picturesque scenery. And back down to the Gorakshep. After breakfast, we walk fairly easy down to Pheriche for the overnight. It takes 4 hrs to walk down and during the walk may get a wind. Pheriche has the Himalayan Rescue Association and can visit there anyway after 3 pm. We overnight at the lodge at Pheriche.

Trek down to Tengboche for the great festival of Mani Rimdu. This is the largest festival in the Khumbu area and many people come to Tengboche and celebrate their festival in their local traditions. It takes 4 hrs to reach Tengboche and enjoy the festive mood.

The walk today will be easy heading downhill to a lower elevation from Tyangboche the walk is pleasant and all the way to Namche. We trek down to Phungithanka a small settlement with a couple of teahouses. The trail leads downhill through the forested path of silver fir, blue pines, rhododendron, and some few magnolia and birch trees and with great memories and after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi river trek onwards to the Sanasa and retract to Namche bazaar for the overnight stay. We need to walk about 3-4 hrs in total.

After a long walk today we’ll have a long and last day trek back to Lukla, Firstly we descend the long way before crossing the bridge and further walk to Monju and ten Phakding for lunch. We trek back by enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village. After a long walk of 7-8 hrs, we arrive in Lukla and you’ll have time to stroll around the areas and guide will re-confirm your flight ticket and enjoy the last celebrate dinner with your crew member and overnight at Hotel.

The flight time to Kathmandu, are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon, sometimes the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason beyond our command. Anyway, we will fly back to Kathmandu and your guide will transfer to the hotel. You may have time to relax after a long journey and take back your breath and rest at your hotel by ending your Himalayan trip with us.
